A great place to stay while visiting NYC, especially if you plan to walk to most parts and avoid public transport. On another note, I needed to change my room due to the first one being right opposite the elevators. The staff was extremely kind in understanding the situation, asked me to pack my luggage before heading out the next day and I came back to a a new room with my luggage already there. Also left a sweet little note. Shout out to Dawn at front desk who was extremely understanding and kind about the whole situation.

Stayed here for 4 nights at DoubleTree by Hilton New York City - Chelsea and it was a reliable, enjoyable pick — easy 4 stars overall. The location is excellent (5 stars): at 128 W 29th St, right in the Garment/Flower District bordering Chelsea and Midtown — super close to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building (short walk), Macy's/Herald Square, and major subway lines (1/2/3, B/D/F/M, N/Q/R/W nearby). Easy to get around the city or explore Chelsea's vibe, shopping, and eats without being in the thick of Times Square chaos. Perfect central spot.

I want to thank David for helping us check in asap upon arrival and the housekeeper, Ramona, for keeping our room clean. Also, a thank you to Romaine for getting us a cab service to the airport very quickly. I will return and book the same hotel.

We recently stayed at the DoubleTree for four days and three nights. The location is perfect (for tourists)—right in a very lively part of the city, within walking distance of endless restaurants. The hotel experience itself was only okay. There were only two small elevators, so waiting times could be significant. The rooms were small, which is understandable for a New York City stay, but the bedding would be my only issue. My main feedback is about the bed: it was advertised as a KING but was, at best, a larger QUEEN-size. The mattress was comfortable, but it clearly overhung the frame (a queen frame with an oversized mattress). Additionally, the pillows were flat and quite uncomfortable. On a positive note, the staff were truly great. They were very accommodating with holding our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. A special shout-out to Julian, who was particularly helpful with our luggages. Overall, I would recommend this hotel primarily for its location and competitive price point in the area.

Great price, walking distance from Penn station, close to a ton of subway lines, free cookies at check-in, fresh lemon infused water in the lobby (a real lifesaver and appreciated amenity for my water-dependent wife), and the best customer service we’ve ever had at a hotel. Truly. Every time we passed in the lobby everyone had warm greetings, they were fast when we called for something from the room, and extra water, cookies, and kindness when we were checking out. So friendly! The room was totally fine. The place was clean. But routinely great service from all shifts and all staff.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Empire State Building VIEW + AWESOME Staff! BEST NYC Location! Forget everything else—this hotel delivered a perfect 5-star experience! The team at DoubleTree Chelsea is simply UNFORGETTABLE. Their service was beyond AWESOME—welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive from check-in to check-out. Request a high floor! Our room offered a SPECTACULAR, UNINHIBITED VIEW of the Empire State Building. Waking up and seeing the Empire State Building right in our backyard was the highlight of the trip, a truly breathtaking sight day and night. The location is UNBEATABLE. The hotel is perfectly positioned as a central hub, making it easy to hit Lower Manhattan, catch a game at Madison Square Garden, or dive into Times Square. This convenience saves so much time! If you are a local looking for a perfect staycation, or an international traveler planning the ultimate NYC adventure, DO NOT HESITATE. This is where you need to book. We had a great stay at this hotel! The location is ideal as it’s close to everything walking distance and the imperial wharf rail station is across the street. Shahrul and Mehmet Neha helped us during our check in and were very nice and were able to help us with any questions we had during our stay. They had great attention to detail! This hotel doesn’t have car parking, but a parking garage is across the street and the hotel offers a 20% discount if you leave your car there- which was so helpful for us! Only reason we gave our stay a 4/5 was because the walls are thin and our next door neighbors were very loud, but it happens when staying at hotels. No fault to staff. Overall, would stay here again!
